Hertfordshire Forward logoHertfordshire 2021: A Brighter Future
This Sustainable Community Strategy is about Hertfordshire; our people and our places, and what it means to live and work here. The sustainable community strategy was signed off by the Hertfordshire Forward Core group on 17 June 2008. The strategy has been the cumulation of several months work by partners across the county and sets out the big strategic challenges we are facing, both now and in the future. It is underpinned by a comprehensive evidence base of Hertfordshire 'the place'. Our community strategy has identified the following as key areas of concern for improvement:
  • Jobs, Prosperity and Skills
  • Safer and Stronger Communities
  • Children and Young People
  • An Ageing Population
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Housing, Affordable Housing and Quality Neighbourhoods
  • Transport and Access
  • Sustaining Hertfordshire’s Unique Character and Quality of Life
  • Promoting Sustainable Development
