Waste and recycling
The county council has two separate responsibilities for waste: waste disposal and waste planning. Household waste is collected by district and borough councils. It is then disposed of by the county council, which also runs Household Waste Recycling Centres. To make sure that these functions are well coordinated, we work closely with the district and borough councils through the Hertfordshire Waste Partnership.
