Going to a new school is a very important step for your child. Hertfordshire wants to make the process of applying for a school place as easy as possible for parents and carers.

Applications for September 2012

Under 11s

Allocations from the first run of Continuing Interest have now been released. If you applied online, and have been successful, you will receive an email after 6pm on Thursday 17 May, with details of your allocation. Online applicants can view their allocation or their position on a continuing interest list by logging back into their online application. If you applied on paper, and have been successful your will receive an allocation letter, sent by first class post on Thursday 17 May, with a response form attached.

Only those who are succesful in this run of continuing interest will be contacted.

All applicants must respond to their new allocation by Friday 25 May.

Secondary Transfer

Allocations from the second run of Continuing Interest have now been released. If you applied online, and have been successful in this run, you will recieve an email after 5pm on Thursday 3 May, with details of your allocation. Online applicants can view their allocation or their position on a continuing interest list by logging back into their online application. If you applied on paper, and have been successful in this run, you will recieve an allocation letter, sent by first class post on Thursday 3 May, with a response form attached.

Only those who are succesful in this run of continuing interest will be contacted.

All applicants must respond to their new allocation by Friday 11 May 2012.

After the second continuing interest run places will be allocated as and when vacancies occur. Continuing interest lists for community and voluntary controlled schools will be updated online regularly from w/c 7 May 2012.

Nursery Admissions

Online applications for nursery school places are now closed. If you have not applied please contact the nurseries directly. Nursery allocations will be available from 30 April 2012 by logging back into the online system. For more information click here.

In Year Applications

If you wish to apply for a school place for your child to start immediately because you are new to Hertfordshire or wish to change your child's school read this information.

Determined Admission Arrangements 2013-14

Following the consultation on school admission arrangements that ran between 3 January 2012 and 29 February 2012, the determined arrangements for all Hertfordshire schools, for the academic year starting in September 2013, are now available here.
