Going to a new school is a very important step for your child. Hertfordshire County Council wants to make the process of applying for a school place as easy as possible for parents and carers. The information on these pages is intended to guide you through the application and allocation process. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Applications for September 2014
Secondary/Upper/Year 10 allocations were released on the Monday 3 March. Click here for more information.
If you have not yet made an application, and wish to do so, please contact the Customer Service Centre to request a paper application form. Detailed information about the Secondary/Upper/Year 10 process, including the interactive "Moving On" booklet and schools directory, can be found here.
Applications for admission into primary, infant, junior and middle schools to start in September 2014 closed on 15 January 2014. Online applications can still be made but will now be treated as late applications. The online system will continue to accept late applications until 10 March 2014. You can access the online application system here.

In Year Applications
In year applications are where children wish to change school outside the usual transfer period. The process for applying for In Year admissions has changed and you should carefully read the information on the In Year pages using the link on the left.
Consultation on school admission arrangements 2015/16
Hertfordshire County Council ran a consultation on the proposed admissions arrangements for the school year 2015/16, between 2 January and 28 February 2014. Responses received after the 28 February will still be accepted, but might not be taken into account when determining the final admission arrangements for 2015/16. Click here for more information.
