Going to a new school is a very important step for your child. Hertfordshire County Council wants to make the process of applying for a school place as easy as possible for parents and carers. The information on these pages is intended to guide you through the application and allocation process. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Applications for September 2014
Reception, junior and middle outcomes were released on Wednesday 16 April. Applicants who applied online and have a confirmed email address will have received an email informing them of the outcome. Online applicants can log in to the online system to view their allocation and respond accordingly. Any applicants that applied on paper, or that did not have a confirmed email address, were sent a letter by first class post on Wednesday 16 April. Click here for more information.

Allocations for the first run of Secondary/Upper/Year 10 continuing interest were released Friday 21 March, from 5pm. Click here for more information.

Determined Admission Arrangments 2015-16
Hertfordshire County Council has determined its admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools for 2015/16 and has also agreed schemes of coordination for primary and secondary schools for the 2015/16 academic year.
The county's arrangements were agreed at Cabinet on 25 March 2014 and by full County Council on 26 March 2014. Full details can be found at here.
Determined admission arrangements for all foundation and voluntary aided schools and academies in Hertfordshire will also be available at www.hertsdirect.org/admissions from 1 May 2014. Own admission authority schools and academies must also publish admission arrangements on individual school websites.
Objections to the arrangements of any school or academy must be made to the Office of the School's Adjudicator by 30 June 2014: www.education.gov.uk/schoolsadjudicator
In Year Applications
In year applications are where children wish to change school outside the usual transfer period. The process for applying for In Year admissions has changed and you should carefully read the information on the In Year pages using the link on the left.
