Work Solutions - employment support and guidance

Work Solutions offers help and support to people whose situation makes it difficult for them to get and keep a job. We also help employers to enhance their equal opportunities policies.

However, we can only help people with mental ill health, learning disabilities (including Aspergers), physical disabilities and sensory needs who meet Health and Community Services (formerly called Adult Care Services) eligibility criteria.

Our aim is to help you obtain and keep your job by improving your confidence and self esteem and ensuring you meet employers' expectations.

We will do this by:

  • identifying and matching your skills, experience, talents and strengths to employers' requirements for jobs.
  • putting together a profile for you, and providing the opportunity to try out jobs for short time-limited periods.
  • offering support, both in and out of the workplace, for as long as necessary, to you and your employer.
  • offering benefits advice and guidance to make sure you are better off in work.
  • offering help and support to get funding for equipment, adjustments in the workplace, or travel to work through the Access to Work scheme.

This information is also available in factsheets. To view these online, or to order copies, please use the adult social care publications link, and navigate to the Employment section.
