The spotlight will be on the UK in 2012 when we host the world’s biggest sporting event.
The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games are already creating all sorts of exciting opportunities for Hertfordshire and the Eastern region.
And with the London 2012 Games right on Hertfordshire's doorstep the county will benefit in so many ways. The East of England Development Agency has predicted the Games will generate more than £100 million for Hertfordshire.
We have an Olympic venue, the White Water Canoe Centre in Broxbourne, plus lots of sites in Hertfordshire that are approved Pre-Games Training Camps for Olympic teams - you can download a pdf to find out where they are here.
We are already planning how Hertfordshire can make the most of the exciting opportunities. In particular we are focussing on:
