Safer routes to school

Safer routes to school is an introductory guide and video for headteachers, teachers, governors, parents and pupils.

It shows how educational initiatives, practical activities and school policy changes can be developed to ensure safe access to school.

The video includes cycle and pedestrian training, road furniture, roadsigns and pedestrian crossings, and walking buses.

The video is produced by Hertfordshire County Council and uses real-life examples from schools in the county, together with interviews with some of the staff who have been involved in putting Safer Routes to School into practice.
