Hertfordshire Savercard
If you are aged 11 to 18 and travel by bus in Hertfordshire then you will need a Hertfordshire SaverCard to travel for half the adult fare.
There are two types of Hertfordshire SaverCard - the 11 to 15 year old Hertfordshire SaverCard and the 16 to 18 year old Hertfordshire SaverCard.
A Hertfordshire SaverCard entitles the holder to travel for child fare on Hertfordshire local buses at all times within Hertfordshire and to certain destinations outside Hertfordshire (see conditions of use below). If you do not have a valid Hertfordshire SaverCard with you at the time of travel you will be charged the full adult fare.
11 to 15 year old Hertfordshire SaverCards are valid from the date they are issued and expire the day before your 16th birthday. You can apply for these SaverCards before your eleventh birthday. These cards cost
£10 for the first application and then
£10 administrative charge for every replacement card.
16 to 18 year old Hertfordshire SaverCards are issued for one academic year. They expire at the end of the academic year on the 30th September. They can be renewed each year as long as the applicant is still eligible.
A charge of
£10 is made for the issue of the 16 to 18 year old Hertfordshire SaverCards. If your family is on low income you may qualify for one free of charge. Applications for a free SaverCard must be made on a “How Can We Help?” form.
Please telephone 01992 556765 for further information and/or a form.
Please do not wait until you are 16 to make your application for a 16 to 18 year old Hertfordshire SaverCard. If you are going to reach your 16th birthday during the academic year then you can apply for your 16 to 18 year old Hertfordshire SaverCard anytime during that year.
