The Pioneer Youth Centre provides facilities for young people between the ages of 13 to 19. There are both social and educational programmes on offer.

We encourage young people to play an active role in the planning of activities at Pioneer Youth Centre and this means that what’s on offer is always fun, creative and ever changing!

Youth Projects at Pioneer:

There are loads of possibilities for activities at the centre including sports, arts, drama and music. If we can't provide what you need at the centre we will look to provide trips and visits, for example, the Youth Connexions outdoor education centre allows you to try canoeing, rock climbing, caving, etc.

We have a four station computer suite with broadband internet access, a large playing field to the rear of the building and outside of Youth Project Sessions times access to the indoor skate park.

We provide information on important issues and want to hear your views too, so there are often discussions on all sorts of topics from relationships, friends and families, sexual health, drugs to football, fashion and what else is going on in the world!

Pioneer Skate Park:
Pioneer hosts an in-door skate park and out-door ramp that is great for both beginners and experienced skaters. With high ramps, low ramps and loads of space, there are opportunities for you to learn new tricks on you skateboard or in-liners.

The Pioneer Centre is recognised as a place for skaters to enjoy their sport. All safety equipment is available at the centre for hire and must be worn.
