Bowes Lyon Centre is the largest youth centre in Hertfordshire, open for young people from Stevenage and the surrounding areas. The aim is to provide educational and challenging opportunities as well as a place to socialise.
The Centre is within five minutes walking distance from Stevenage Town Centre, which is accessible by public transport. The centre has been open since 1964 and has undergone extensive refurbishment, this includes alterations that ensure the centre is accessible to people with disabilities.
We offer young people aged between 13-19 the following:
* Monday:
- 7.00pm-9.45pm Graf Cafe.
* Tuesday:
- 4.00pm-6.45pm Open T-time session;
- 6.45pm-9.30pm Megamix open to young people aged 13-25 with sepcial needs;
- 6.45pm-9.45pm Young Volunteering Project - supporting and planning activities;
- 12.00pm-3.00pm Young Mum's Group.
* Wednesday:
- 7.00pm-9.45pm Gaffe Cafe arts/graffiti projects.
* Thursday:
- 4.00pm-7.00pm Open T-time session;
- 7.00pm-9.45pm Sports activities.
* Friday:
- 10.00am-2.00pm Young Mum's Group.
A wide range of activities take place on a regular basis including:
* Sports (basketball, football, bms bikes, skateboards and inline skates, badminton, etc);
* Arts (painting, pastels, modelling, etc);
* Social activities (music, games, discussions, etc).
Other things we do...table tennis, bowling, jewellery making, dance, DJ workshop, cooking, trampolining, video making and loads more!
Sports Hall, Lounge, Music Den, Offices, Skatepark, Cafe open to young people during all opening times. Disabled access to all areas.

the bus station is 5 minutes away, by foot.
