St Albans Chamber Opera was founded in 1987 by opera singer Phyl (Aver) Swindlehurst to make the most of the talents of the many fine singers, both amateur and professional, living in the area.
Virtually self-supporting, this versatile, adaptable company strives for the highest standards of music theatre. Activities include concerts, workshops, charity entertainments, studio productions and full stage productions with orchestra which have included opera ranging form Purcill's 'Dido and Aenas' to Britten's 'Albert Herring' by way of lots of Mozart and Rossini.
The company is available to provide entertainment for Charity Fund-Raising events at a modest cost.
