A typical Roman domestic Bathhouse, part of a 3rd Century Villa Complex built 1,700 years ago. Preserved in a vault underneath the A1(M).

A facinating insight into how Romans took a bath. Displays of finds from the villa show how people lived and worked in the Roman Countryside.

School parties welcome.

In addition to the opening hours listed, the Baths are open by appointment and a fee is payable.

Costs: Adults £1.00; under 16s free.
Other concessions available - please ask.

Opening Hours:
* January-November: Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays 2.00pm-5.00pm or dusk if earlier;
* School Half-terms and Holidays: Monday-Sunday 2.00pm-5.00pm or dusk if earlier;
* Closed in December and school Christmas holidays.

Directions: Under the A1(M) at its junction with the A1000 just off the central roundabout of the Welwyn by-pass.
