The society aims to research and record factual information concerning London Colney, covering a wide range of topics.
For instance they are studying:
- How the buildings and population have evolved
- Maps
- Documents
- Photographs
- Various organisations
- Schools
- Churches
- Inns
- Trade and industry
- Sports, etc
They also collect items (donated) of historic importance and general memorabilia.
Committee meetings are held approximately every 2 months.
Annual public exhibition is held in the village hall community centre. Gives slide shows on request, plus holds a social evening, dance annually and support village events with a history stand.
The society is affiliated to the British Association for Local History and Hertfordshire Heritage.
Publications:
Newsletter 'The Record' twice a year.
