This unique system of mind/body re-education teaches us how to improve our use of ourselves. We can learn how to recognise and prevent unconscious habits that interfere with our natural poise and freedom.

If a car is driven with the handbrake half on or with the foot riding the clutch, it will not only perform badly, but also soon will need replacement parts. Many people suffer pain and frustration because they are unaware of what they are doing to themselves. The Alexander Technique can provide a choice for those who wish it.

Applying the Technique has helped people with a variety of medical conditions including:
* Back, neck and shoulder pain, tension headaches and migraine and RSI.
* Anxiety, stress, high blood pressure.
* Breathing problems, asthma, hyperventilation, panic attacks.
* Rehabilitation after a stroke, injury or operation.

Typical words used to describe feelings after a lesson in the Alexander Technique are poised, light, tall, calm, co-ordinated and energised. The Alexander Technique can be used to improve performance, whatever the discipline. It is taught throughout the world to a wide range of performers, from actors and athletes to flautists and fighter pilots, because of its success in improving poise, co-ordination, communication, awareness and spontaneity.

Affiliated to Society of Teachers of Alexander Technique (STAT). We offer individual lessons and introductory workshops, we also specialise in applying the Alexander Technique to swimming and riding.
