This is a 24 Hour service operating 365 days a year. It is available to anyone who feels vunerable in their home for whatever reason - age, disability, isolation, domestic violence. Provides lone worker monitoring service for vulnerable lone workers in the community.

The service is provided through an alarmphone unit or an alarm which links to an existing telephone. A body-worn pendant is provided for use with the alarm so that the person can call for help wherever they are in their home.

The alarm unit works with a BT line. When a call is made, it goes through to the Broxbourne Central Control where the operator aims to deal with the problem without delay. A mobile warden may be sent to assist if the client is in difficulty.

In addition, a mobile warden visiting and equipment maintenance service is also available.

Department also administers meals on wheels and concessionary bus fares.

Parent organisation: Broxbourne Borough Council. Housing and Community Care
