Community alarm service

Community alarm systems can be installed in a person's home, so that the resident can call for help in an emergency.

Community alarms can be provided by district councils, although the arrangements may be different if the alarm is needed in private or council or housing association accommodation. There is normally a weekly charge. People on limited incomes can get help with the cost through the Supporting People scheme.
