How Hertfordshire County Council has been preparing for FOI requests

Hertfordshire County Council has done a great deal to ensure that it is ready for the implementation of the Freedom of Information Act on 1 January 2005.

Our Freedom of Information Publication Scheme has been available on this website since April 2003. This provides a listing of the classes of information we already have available and how to obtain it. The Publication Scheme will be extended to incorporate further changes. The County Council has undertaken an audit of information held in each of its departments and has trained staff in procedures to ensure that we comply with the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
