Transforming Local Public Services Together Conference 20 April 2007

Dear Colleagues,

Please find attached the programme for the forthcoming conference which is being sponsored by Herts Forward and Government Office for the East of England.

The aim of the Conference is to promote how local councils, local strategic partnerships and others can better understand and support the role that the Voluntary and Commuity Sector (VCS)can play in building strong and vibrant local communities. The relationship that local government has with the VCS can be fundamental in tackling the challenges that communities face today. At a local level, the VCS can take on a number of roles in supporting or providing services, advice, advocacy and information and local compacts can help to underpin these vital relationships between the sectors.
