Open days for women

Women make great Firefighters

As part of our campaign to recruit more women into the Fire Service we will be holding a number of events to encourage women to consider a career with us. These events are:

• Careers open day for women which includes a tour of the Training Centre or a Fire Station, an introduction to the Service, an overview of the role of a firefighter and an overview of the selection process. You will also have the opportunity to have a go at the physical tests and the psychometric tests similar to those used during the selection process. These seminars will be held at our Training Centre in Stevenage.

• Physical development workshops to assess fitness levels and develop a fitness programme.
