THE TEAM
Our team of training officers are all current or retired operational fire fighters. They come with a wealth of knowledge and experience, NeBOSH certified, qualified in sport therapy, massage, electrotherapy, sports rehabilitation and are recognised under Osteopaths for Industry. Their unique, dynamic and practical techniques provide an unforgettable award winning training experience.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Nursing and care staff whose work involves moving people.
OBJECTIVES
To provide carers with safe techniques they can use with clients/patients, whilst protecting themselves from injury.
This course conforms to the ‘minimal lifting policy’ as recommended by the Royal College of Nursing.

Basic Spinal anatomy
Causes of back pain and injury mechanisms
Injury prevention
Basic dynamic risk assessment
Dynamic lifting technique
Injury management and rehabilitation
Application of ‘Safe’ techniques in the workplace
General Techniques (assisted walking – emergency procedures)
Chair Techniques (in/out of chairs – muscle testing)
Bed Techniques (in/out of bed – bed modifications)
