FOUR DAY FIRST AID AT WORK; TWO DAY FIRST AID AT WORK REFRESHER; HALF DAY BASIC FIRST AID FOR APPOINTED PERSONS

THE TEAM
Our team of training officers consists of current or retired fire fighters and specialists in the field of First Aid. All trainers are HSE approved First Aid at Work Instructors and continually keep up to date with the British Medical Association and the British Heart Foundation techniques and advances. Their dynamic and practical techniques provide an unforgettable award winning training experience.

FOUR DAY FIRST AID AT WORK

TARGET AUDIENCE
All nominated First Aiders within the workplace. Employers have a legal obligation to make First Aid provisions for their employees.

OBJECTIVES
To provide delegates with the skills, knowledge and confidence required when dealing with First Aid incidents in the workplace. To ensure employees are up-to-date on current First Aid practices in accordance with the "First Aid at Work, Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981".

CONTENT
Accidents and illness; using a first aid kit; simple record keeping; treatment of an unconscious casualty; heart attacks; resuscitation; shock; choking; bleeding; nose bleeds; burns and scalds; poisoning; fractures; seizures; asthma; severe allergic reaction; eye injuries; low blood sugar; fainting.

MATERIALS
Latest version of First Aid manual provided for duration of course.

QUALIFICATION
First Aid Certificate (HSE Approved, valid for 3 years: upon passing practical, oral & written examinations.

LOCATION
At Longfield Training & Development Centre.

OTHER INFORMATION
Refreshments: Tea/coffee and lunch provided.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Any employee who wishes to learn the basics of first aid to enable support to the dedicated first aider or to raise their awareness of first aid.

OBJECTIVES
To provide delegates with the skills and knowledge required to perform basic life saving First Aid.

Dealing with incidents and summoning assistance

Correct approach to a casualty

Resuscitation

Principles of ABC (Airways, Breathing, Circulation)

Recognise and treat shock

Managing the unconsciousness casualty

Types of wounds and control of bleeding
