EVACUATION CHAIR

THE TEAM
Our team of training officers are all current or retired operational fire fighters. They come with a wealth of knowledge and experience, NeBOSH certified, qualified in sport therapy,
massage, electrotherapy, sports rehabilitation and are recognised under Osteopaths for Industry. Their unique, dynamic and practical techniques provide an unforgettable
award winning training experience.
TARGET AUDIENCE
All nominated employees with specific responsibilities for emergency evacuation procedures.
OBJECTIVES
Provide delegates with:
A basic understanding of fire regulations affecting mobility impaired people
An understanding of issues affecting those with a mobility impairment
The confidence, knowledge and ability to operate the evacuation chair
CONTENT
Opening the chair
Seating or transferring the intended passenger
Securing the seat belt
Use of the trolley mechanism for lateral transfer
Learning the balance position – required for safe handling
Transferring smoothly from landings to stairs
Positioning on the stairs adjacent to the inside rail
Demonstration of a safe and cautious approach having regard for passenger comfort
Notifying visitors to the premises that Evacuation Chairs may be used

At client’s premises or a suitable training facility can be organised.
