Office for National Statistics population projections

Periodically the Office for National Statistics (ONS) produces population projections. The latest release is the 2006-based long-term projections which provide projections for males and females in 5 year age bands for each year over a 25 year period (i.e from 2006 to 2031). These were released on 12th June 2008 and they supersede the 2004-based projections.

Projections are available at District and County levels. Below are the data for Hertfordshire and the ten Districts, available in a spreadsheet.

Please note that these projections are purely trend based i.e. what would happen should the recent trend continue. They do not take into account any future policies or large scale development.

Household projections have been produced based on the 2004-based population projections. Further information is available elsewhere on hertsdirect.org.
