Other sources of census results
A vast amount of results have been produced from the 2001 census and for that reason it is impractical to publish more than a small proportion of results on hertsdirect.org.
The results that we have published are those that we think will be the most useful and those that we anticipate will be the most sought after. Most of the results that have been published are for geographic areas in Hertfordshire, although some comparative results have been included in Key Statistics and Univariate Tables for England and Wales, England and the East of England region.
Results from Key Statistics and Census Area Statistics Univariate tables for the main census geographies for the whole of England and Wales are available on the Office for National Statistics (ONS) website via the link on the right. Click on the "Neighbourhood" link when you get there.
Results from the Standard Tables and Census Area Statistics (CAS) multivariate tables, including the respective Theme Tables, are now available on the web on NOMIS, a service run by the University of Durham under contract to ONS. Users can choose to select all or part of a table, and view and download the data for the main census geographies within England and Wales. The tables are available at
www.nomisweb.co.uk/home/census2001.asp.
Results on Travel to work from the Origin-Destination matrices are available at Local Authority and Ward levels, also on the NOMIS website at
www.nomisweb.co.uk/articles/368.aspx.
