Demographic profiles for geographic areas in Hertfordshire - 2001 census

Summaries of some of the main statistics from the Key Statistics for local authorities, wards, output areas and parishes have been published below as demographic profiles for Hertfordshire, each of the ten District Council areas, 193 electoral wards, 126 civil parishes, 77 electoral divisions and 228 settlements in Hertfordshire. The settlement data is based on settlements as defined by HCC. The profiles include statistics on ethnic breakdown, religion, households and economic activity.

The demographic profiles for local authorities include comparisons where possible to the 1991 census. Such comparisons are not available for the ward, parish and electoral divison profiles as their geography has changed significantly since the 1991 census.

The ethnic breakdown within these profiles has been amended to show an overall ethnic minority population that includes non-British white ethnic groups.
