Sources of funding in Hertfordshire

HERN Investing in Communities (IiC) Hertfordshire
Investing in Communities is a new regional programme designed to ensure "through a new, long term, joined up approach to community regeneration that all our communities can participate in and benefit from the development of our region".

The brieifing note below gives information on the key features and goals as well as what? why? when? how? and who?

Sport Reliefwas set up by Comic Relief and BBC Sport to use the power of sport and exercise to help tackle the exclusion and isolation experienced by some of the poorest and most disadvantaged communities, both in the UK and abroad.

Who can Sport Relief help?
Projects should provide opportunities for people who are excluded or disadvantaged due to low income, rural or social isolation, age, disability, race, sexuality or gender.

What kind of activity can be funded?
Projects should use sport to:
• Increase access to sport and exercise for people who face social exclusion and isolation
• Help people who are experiencing difficulties to regain their confidence and self esteem
• Encourage people to take part in sporting activities that bring communities together

What can’t be funded?
Individuals. Statutory organisations. Trips abroad. Mini buses. Building costs or adaptations to buildings. Activities which rely on another funder other than Sport Relief for more than 50% of project costs. Groups with a turnover of more than £100,000.

How much can you apply for?
Grants range from £250 to £5,000
