Managing a funded project
Remember the scale and difficulty of the administrative task increases, due to:
lack of experience in managing funded projects
the number of partners involved
the complexity of the project’s work programme
the complexity of the financing arrangements
You may also want to consider:
the resources you will need to set up administrative systems
the financial impact on your organisation of managing cash when some project payments come in arrears
staff resources to run the project
Managing the project
what are the project’s overall objectives?
have you agreed the minimum outcomes acceptable to each partner?
What are the tasks, delivery methods and outcomes?
Have you set schedules – milestones and firm ‘do by’ dates?
Have you agreed targets for each key measurable outcome?
Have you defined quality standards?
Have you agreed project management responsibilities and procedures with your partners?
