Inspections and the performance of schools

Here you’ll find how we measure your child’s performance and how well Hertfordshire’s schools are doing.

Your child’s performance is measured by national assessments (which are examinations or tests normally held at the end of the school year). Exam and test results are issued by the school to you and your child and are not published here.

As well as a school Ofsted inspection, school performance is also measured by end of year exams but we take an overview of all the children’s results (this is referred to as school-level data) and publish these on the links below. Hertfordshire’s School Ofsted reports are available on the Ofsted web site, simply use the link on the right of this page.

Hertfordshire’s Ofsted Report is another way in which we can assess how we, as a local authority, are continuing to raise standards and provide essential education services in Hertfordshire.
