ContactPoint goes live in Hertfordshire

ContactPoint is an online directory holding basic demographic information on all children and their parents as well as contact details of any professional working with a particular child.

It was developed in response to a key recommendation of the Laming Inquiry into the tragic death of Victoria ClimbiƩ and has been designed to help frontline practitioners work across organisations, arming authorised professionals with a quick and easy tool to find out who else is working with the same child.

In Hertfordshire initial training began in December 2009 and the aim is for approximately 100 professionals, from a range of different sectors, to have completed ContactPoint training by July 2010. It will be further rolled out to many more practitioners across the county in the second half of the year.

More information on ContactPoint is available on the Integrated Practice pages of hertsdirect.org - or you can e-mail contactpoint.enquiries@hertscc.gov.uk.
