About the Hertfordshire Children's Trust Partnership
Children’s Trusts exist across the country to improve the lives and futures of children and young people. They were set up following the Children Act 2004, which came about as a result of the tragic death of Victoria Climbie.
Every Child Matters: Change for Children is the approach to the well-being of children and young people. The aim is for every child, whatever their background or their circumstances, to have the support they need to:
- Be healthy
- Stay safe
- Enjoy and achieve
- Make a positive contribution
- Achieve economic well-being
These are known as the ‘five outcomes’.
Reflecting this, the objectives of the HCTP are to ensure:
- Agencies work together effectively to improve the wellbeing of children and young people aged 0 to 19 in Hertfordshire
- Better outcomes and better life experiences for children and young people in Hertfordshire
- Robust inter-agency governance and accountability arrangements are in place.
