Hertfordshire Business Services is the new name for what was previously known as County Supplies And Contract Services(CSCS). The name change has come about in response to a branding process that brings us into line with the overall County Council brand.
Hertfordshire Business Services is the name for the head office function that manages several Business Units on behalf of the Authority including, Hertfordshire Supplies, Hertfordshire Purchasing, Hertfordshire Catering, Hertfordshire Reprographics, and Hertfordshire Equipment Services.
Hertfordshire Business Services is the Council's principal centre for procurement having responsibility for the purchase of all goods and services in common use and acting as the guardian of best practice in procurement for the authority. In addition to its procurement roles the unit also has a significant contract management portfolio and acts as the client for a range of service based facilities management contracts. In total Hertfordshire Business Services places orders and manages contracts worth up to £100 million per annum.
Hertfordshire Business Services is a founder member of the Central Buying Consortium, a consortium of 17 major local authorities from Dorset to Kent and from Essex to Northampton, who arrange joint contracts for goods and services worth over £750 million a year.
The organisation holds ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 certification.
