When you are in hospital ……. A social care service for Lister Hospital, Stevenage, Hitchin and Royston Hospitals

The service is for

Adult patients staying in hospital or attending day hospital or out-patient clinics, their families and carers.

Parents, children and families at ante-natal clinics, maternity and children’s wards.

Those attending the Accident and Emergency department.

People who will be returning home after a stay in hospital.

People who will be moving to a residential or nursing care home.

What we can offer

Information – on a wide range of social care services.

Help – to plan for coming into and leaving hospital and for ongoing care and support.

Advice – on welfare benefits, housing and other problems.

By calling at our office on Level 3 at the Lister Hospital.

We are available between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm, Monday to Thursday, 9.00 am and 4.30 pm on Fridays.

There is also an out of hours social worker available till 8pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 4pm on Saturdays, contactable via the A&E department. (To be contacted by professionals only.)
