The work of the team

Working with Hertfordshire County Council and other agencies we provide an emergency social care service for situations that arise out of normal office hours

We help:

Older people

People with mental health problems

People with learning disabilities

People with physical disabilities

Children and young people

Families and carers of all these groups

We carry out urgent assessments of adults, young people and children.

We advise, counsel and inform in order to make people and situations safe until the next working day when day services resume.

We assist clients/service users in identifying and resolving urgent problems they present and accessing necessary services.

We liaise with other agencies out of hours.

WE DO NOT provide an alternative to the more fully resourced daytime services.

WE DO NOT take messages for daytime services, although messages may arise as part of our work.
