Drug and alcohol misuse affects all communities. It can create serious health problems and lead to premature death, contribute to crime and increase economic and social deprivation. Providing well managed effective treatment for people who have serious drug and alcohol problems helps in tackling these harms.
We aim to commission the best services for the good of misusers and the Hertfordshire community.
We follow guidelines set by the National Treatment Agency (NTA), and have a tiered treatment system offering a range of treatments, outlined in the link below. Services are commissioned from the Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust and the private and voluntary sector. Some residential services are provided by other Health Trusts.
All services are commissioned to meet current best practice in accordance with the National Effectiveness Strategy for substance misuse services, set by the NTA. Further information is in the external link on the right of this page.
