Help from the health sector

Your GP is always the first point of contact for health services. Remember that you can also contact NHS Direct, a confidential 24 hour telephone helpline, on 0845 46 47 to speak to a nurse for advice at any time of the day or night.

The Primary Care Trusts aim to improve the health of local people, develop primary and community services and purchase hospital services on behalf of local people.
