Carers Strategy Consultation

The Hertfordshire Multi-Agency Carers Strategy has been in existence since 1996. We are in the process of reviewing it and drawing up a new strategy for 2007-2012.

A six-month consultation process was opened on the 5th June 2006. At a conference entitled Where Do We Go from Here? carers and representatives of services and voluntary organisations took an initial look at what the strategy had achieved so far, and the issues that need to be included in a five year strategy from 2007-2012.

We held another conference on 23rd November 2006 at the Fielder Centre, Hatfield and there we:

• set out what we had heard so far and
• discussed with delegates how the new strategy will address the issues raised and
• we also broadcast the event live on the internet. People were able to send in their views, via email, which will be included in the summary of responses from the event.
