Improving the quality of our direct work with users and carers
The delivery of care services to vulnerable people is the focus of Adult Care Services’ work. We need to assess and evaluate our services to ensure we continue to provide high quality, person-centred services to those in need.
This means ensuring that:
Assessments for individuals are completed within required timescales and are centred on the person’s needs and what they want to achieve
Good quality care plans reflecting the individual’s views and cultural needs are produced and have the individual’s agreement
Services are delivered in a person-centred way to promote personal independence
Timely reviews are completed*
Carers are offered their own assessment of needs and services are provided where necessary*
The use of direct payments and individual payments are promoted*
* areas identified for significant improvement by the Commission for Social Care Inspection
