If you are concerned about your own mental health the first person to contact is your GP who should be able to assess the problem and decide the best way to approach it. If your doctor is not able to help, he or she will suggest someone who can, such as a counselling service or a local Community Mental Health Centre.
If you are worried about the mental health of a relative, friend, acquaintance or even a stranger, you can get advice from your local Community Mental Health Centre or through Adult Care Services.
