Services for people with drug or alcohol problems
Services for people who have drug or alcohol problems are provided through health services, the county council and voluntary organisations and include:
- Education and prevention advice.
- Information and counselling.
- Needle exchange schemes.
- Rehabilitation and aftercare.
- Assessment, treatment and detoxification.
- Specialist support for people who have additional complicated problems as a result of using drugs or alcohol.
Through community drug and alcohol teams based at various locations across the county, specialist health services staff and social workers provide medical, health and care advice and support. (See the links below)
Both local and national, independent and voluntary agencies provide advice, counselling and rehabilitation services.
