Around half a million older people across the UK are abused by someone they thought they could trust.
You can report posssible abuse in confidence on 0808 8010345 - a helpline being piloted in Watford, Three Rivers and Dacorum. The scheme will initially run for six months from 14 April 2008.
A letter about the pilot has already been distributed to everyone who currently receives home care in the three areas, and to their families and carers.
We are working to help stop and prevent abuse of older, vulnerable people in their own homes. The project is being jointly run by the county council, national charity Action on Elder Abuse and home care providers Community Care Line Services, Goldsborough and Westminster.
If you are worried about an older person in the area please call the helpline in confidence on 0808 8010345.
