Requesting a communication support service

Communication support can be requested by people who are deaf, deafblind or hard of hearing and live, work, or study in Hertfordshire.

Statutory, voluntary, health or private agencies can also request support directly on behalf of the service user.

Please use the online booking form below, which should be completed with as much detail as possible.

We recommend that requests are made at least 2-3 weeks in advance, although there may be occasions when support can be arranged at short notice or in an emergency. In these cases, please contact the unit by phone:

If a language service professional is required out of office hours in an emergency, please contact Hertfordshire County Council’s Emergency Duty Team and request a British Sign Language Interpreter.
