To identify the contracted areas stated in the four documents below, please use this map.
Section A - Block Contract Providers: set up in all areas to provide consistent and continuing domiciliary care service throughout the county. 17 block agencies provide services in various parts of the county, one agency provides services countywide.
Section B - Spot Contract Providers: called upon as required to provide a service, but not obliged to take packages of care that are offered. Any commissions must be provided to the same standard, terms and conditions expected of Block Providers.
Section C - Live-in Care Providers The current list of Live In Care providers have spot contract agreements. Each organisation has capacity to provide 24 hour live in care to service users requiring such a service.
Section D - Specialist Providers: have spot contract agreements and provide specialist services, that may not be available from block providers.
If you are arranging your own home care, you may want to check whether an agency is registered and therefore meets national minimum standards. For more details select the link called 'Commission for Social Care Inspection' on the right of this page.
The Commission for Social Care Inspection (formerly the National Care Standards Commission) registers all home care agencies that meet national standards. Hertfordshire County Council only uses registered and contracted agencies.
