Fair access to care services

We want to make sure that everyone has access to the care services they are entitled to, particularly those arranged and funded by the County Council’s Adult Care Services.

We have to work within a set budget, so cannot provide all the support we are asked for. We give priority to people with the greatest need in order to safeguard their health, safety, well being or independence.

If we are not able to offer help from ACS, we will give advice and suggest other organisations who may be able to provide the support you need.

The sorts of situations where we would arrange support are:
  • where someone is struggling to cope with everyday life, perhaps because of a fall, ill health or disability,
  • where they have little or no personal independence or may be feeling increasingly isolated and lonely,
  • where they are suffering or are likely to suffer abuse or exploitation,
  • where their condition affects their ability to continue in work or carry out normal family responsibilities.
