How you can receive your individual budget
Once your support plan has been drafted you will need to decide how you would like your care and support to be delivered.
Various options include:
- Direct Payments - This option gives you the highest level of choice and control over the services you receive. If you want to manage your support yourself, you can receive the money as a direct payment. You will then be responsible for organising and paying the people who support you, or buying services from an agency or organisation. To receive your direct payment you will need to open a separate bank account and we will pay money into this every four weeks. There are more details on direct payments in the link below.
- Using an agent or support broker - If you do not wish to manage your own money or support directly but wish to retain some level of choice, you can arrange for someone else to manage it on your behalf. This can be a family member, friend, or a Trust group. There is also the option of using a support broker to arrange services and support on your behalf.
- Use support organised by Adult Care Services - You can ask Adult Care Services to organise your care and support as we do now. However, we can only arrange support from our own services or agencies with whom we have contracts.
- Mixed package - You could choose to use a direct payment for some of your care and support needs which you organise yourself, and also use services organised by Adult Care Services for you.
