How do I apply for direct payments?

If you are already receiving services from the county council
Please contact your social worker or your local Adult Care Services team to discuss applying for direct payments.

If you don’t receive care services but think you should
Please contact us for an assessment and mention that you are interested in receiving direct payments. Select the link called Contact us on the left of this page for our contact details.

Adult Care Services must consider offering direct payments to all eligible adults and their carers who have been assessed as needing community care services, but who wish to make their own arrangements. The aim of direct payments is to give people more choice, greater flexibility and more control over the type of support they want.
