What is sheltered housing?

These services consist of sheltered accommodation for older people with different levels of support depending on needs of the tenant. This type of accommodation is for older people who can live independently but need some support and for frailer older people who need more support and some level of personal care. Most sheltered housing schemes provide self-contained accommodation with an on-site scheme manager or a scheme manager who visits regularly.
