2. Maximising opportunities for all children and young people

Supporting young people is a key priority for Hertfordshire. It is important to support personal development and provide young people with the skills and opportunities to lead fulfilling adult and working lives.

Ensuring good outcomes in terms of education and health are essential, as are the opportunities for young people to make their views known, to participate in decisionmaking and to make a positive contribution to the community. Where children and young people are at risk of significant harm, it is also the Council’s role to ensure that they are adequately safeguarded.

This challenge can only be achieved hrough a strong and effective partnership with other organisations.
