The Standards Committee

The County Council's Standards Committee is responsible for:
- promoting and maintaining high standards of conduct by County Councillors, co-opted members and church & parent governor representatives
- assisting those members to observe the Councillors' Code of Conduct and arranging appropriate training
- advising the Council on the revision of the Code
- monitoring the operation of the code
- granting dispensations from requirements relating to declaration of interests
- dealing with reports from a case tribunal or from the Monitoring Officer (Andrew Laycock, County Secretary)
Meetings of the Standards Committee are called as and when required.
