The County Council's Standards Committee is responsible for:

promoting and maintaining high standards of conduct by County Councillors, co-opted members and church & parent governor representatives
assisting those members to observe the Councillors' Code of Conduct and arranging appropriate training
advising the Council on the revision of the Code
monitoring the operation of the code
granting dispensations from requirements relating to declaration of interests
dealing with reports from a case tribunal or from the Monitoring Officer (Kathryn Pettitt, Chief Legal Officer)

Meetings of the Standards Committee are called as and when required.
