Electronic procure to pay system

The Council went live with an electronic ordering system supplied by SAP in April 2004. This enables users to search a number of catalogues for goods and services on line, obtain authorisation, generate an electronic order and for it to be transmitted to the supplier electronically. Users can then receipt goods electronically, which allows the invoice to be matched and payment made to the supplier.

Benefits for suppliers are that there is one point to send their invoices, rather than the hundreds that there were previously, and one point of contact.
