Hertfordshire and Luton Marketplace

This is an exciting collaboration of Hertfordshire County Council with nine of its District and Borough Councils and Luton Borough Council, in partnership with IDeA:marketplace and @UKPLC.
IDeA:marketplace are providing the eMarketplace functionality including contract information and @UKPLC are undertaking the Supplier Adoption.

Benefits to all participating councils include:

• being able to access contracts and suppliers’ catalogues in one place through the Hertfordshire and Luton Marketplace
• making efficiency savings through electronic processes
• a single source of management information for future sourcing and contracting

The Hertfordshire and Luton Marketplace enables participating councils to meet some of the diverse set of agendas from eGovernment targets through to Local Economic Development and regeneration.

Implementation of eProcurement using the Hertfordshire and Luton Marketplace within the Districts will be phased. All participating authorities will choose their own pilot department and thereafter manage a roll out programme across their organisations. @UKPLC offer suppliers an eProcurement enabled website at low cost, which will allow them not only to communicate electronically with the Hertfordshire and Luton Marketplace but also with their other customers. This will be of particular benefit to SMEs and local businesses.

As a current supplier with a purchasing arrangement with one or more of the councils you may shortly receive a letter inviting you to register. Registration is the first step towards doing business electronically with the Hertfordshire and Luton Marketplace. See copy of the letter below.
