My front-line role
I am the County Councillor for St Andrews, Hertford. The ‘Your Community’ section provides local service information, news, events, and contacts about the area. Click below for more information:
I represent the interests of around 15,000 residents; I work with the local district council (East Herts), town councils and the local MP Mark Prisk.
As is the case with every County Councillor, I have a locality budget of £10,000 a year to spend on community projects in the division. Follow the links for more details of the scheme and details of applications I have previously agreed and declined.
My County Council responsibilities
My County Council responsibilities in the past ten years include Development Control, Culture, Libraries and The Arts and Museums and Highways in East Herts.
Roles on outside bodies
As the representative of East Herts Council I serve Groundwork Hertfordshire and the Hertfordshire Building Preservation Trust. Frequent business with very many local charities, churches and clubs as referred to in my ‘Interests lists’.
Personal, professional and political details
I’ve enjoyed a long career as a schoolmaster locally and approaching 40 years as a local councillor. I’m a National Assembly Member of Victim Support.
My strongest motivation is my passion for all things to do with the community of Hertford. My work at County Hall involves developing strategic for the good of the whole county – and Hertford specifically.
More locally I seek to engage with all, to serve constituents as a reliable signpost because of my local knowledge and to generate opportunities at all scales and levels for the general good.
